V případě, že první volba je povolena a druhá nekonf. nebo zakázána, bude se tvořit centrální databáze a thumbs.db nebudou překážet ve složkách. To může mít za následek zvětšování databáze, kde budou viset už i přesunuté nebo smazané soubory. Pro ty, co často prochází síťové složky, doporučuju zapnout třetí volbu a tím síťové miniatury netvořit vůbec.

databázové soubory thumbcache_*.db lze ale smazat pouze pokud nejsou používány, tj. buď je nutné miniatury na chvíli zakázat v gpeditu, nebo ukončit jejich používání. Otevřte Total commander, přes Správce úloh zabijte úlohu Explorer.exe, požadované soubory smažte a pak opětovně explorer spusťte (Správce úloh -> Soubor -> Nová úloha -> explorer).
